The Township of Scugog celebrates Canada Day 2025 in Palmer Park!

Join us on Tuesday, July 1, 2025, for unforgettable fun and entertainment. Our celebrations kick off at 10:30 a.m. with a parade through Historic Downtown Port Perry, featuring our annual "Vettes for Vets", along with antique cars, local athletes, bands, and more. After opening ceremonies, the day is packed full of live performances, activities in the Kids’ Zone, incredible food and artisan vendors, and tons of exciting, inclusive events for the entire family. The night ends with the best firework show in Durham Region, displayed over Lake Scugog at 10 p.m. You will not want to miss out as Scugog celebrates Canada Day in Palmer Park

Calendar of Events

10:30 a.m. | Canada Day Parade featuring "Vettes-for-Vets" 

Parade features new & antique cars, bands, and local community groups. It will begin on Queen Street and continue through Historic Downtown Port Perry. It will end on Water Street before proceeding into Palmer Park.

11:00 a.m. | Official Canada Day Opening Ceremonies

Includes the singing of the National Anthem and serving of the Canada Day Cupcake Cake provided by Vos' Independent. 

12:30 p.m. | Hot Dog BBQ

A free hot dog lunch provided by Maple Leaf Foods. 

12:00 to 6:00 p.m. | Kids' Zone

Hosted by Scugog Recreation and the Scugog Shores Museum. Enjoy inflatables, a giant colouring mural, games, activities and more. 

12:00 to 6:00 p.m. | Fire Safety Booth

Provided by Scugog's Fire Department. 

1:00 p.m. | Live Performances Begin

Stay tuned, the concert line up is coming soon! 

2:00 p.m. | Pizza in the Park

Enjoy a free pizza slice provided by Domino's Pizza Port Perry. 

12:00 to 10:00 p.m. | Beverage Area (19+)

10:00 p.m. | Fireworks

Experience the firework show over Lake Scugog presented by Supernova Fireworks.

The Canada Day Vettes for Vets parade takes place at 10:30 a.m. on Tuesday, July 1, 2025. The parade starts at Ottawa Street and goes down Queen Street to Palmer Park where Opening Ceremonies begin at 11:00 a.m.

Be Part of The Parade!

Community groups are welcome to participate in the parade. Groups are required to register with the events team by contacting events@scugog.ca

After opening ceremonies, the afternoon is packed full of live performances, Kids' Zone activities and incredible vendors throughout Palmer Park. 

Interested vendors are asked to complete a Vendor Application Package. Please read the package carefully and submit the completed application to events@scugog.ca

Canada Day is organized by a volunteer committee together with staff to offer a memorable, fun and entertaining day in Palmer Park.

Our Canada Day Celebrations are made possible thanks to our event sponsors. Each year, the Township strives to create an event that benefits all members of our community, including our local businesses. Our Canada Day Celebration this year is the perfect opportunity to relaunch your presence in the community.

Interested sponsors can view the Canada Day Sponsorship Package. Many organizations also help with in-kind donations. Please reach out to event staff at events@scugog.ca to discuss other sponsorship opportunities.
