Canada Day 2019 in Scugog
Celebrate Canada Day 2019 with the Township of Scugog! Join us July 1st in Palmer Park for unforgettable fun, entertainment, food, vendors and fireworks!
Our celebrations will kick off at 10:30am with our annual “Vettes for Vets” parade through historic downtown Port Perry, featuring veterans riding through the streets in snazzy Corvettes, a fife & drum band, new & antique cars and several local groups marching along with them. The parade will continue down Queen Street to Palmer Park where we will hold our opening ceremonies, leading up to our celebrations which will start at 12 noon. Just before we begin, we will be serving our Canada Day 1,200 Cupcake Cake provided by Vos’ Independent Grocer.
We will begin the celebrations with a pizza and hot dog lunch provided by Domino’s Pizza and Maple Leaf Foods, along with Old Flame’s Beverage tent opening up for the whole day where you can enjoy some local craft beer. Throughout the event you will be able to visit our various artisan vendors, where you can savour their delicious food, purchase their quality merchandise, or just gather information about these great companies.
Don’t worry, we didn’t forget about all of the families! We have many family activities, including a Kids Zone with a jumping castle, More Than a Dream Princesses and a live performance from Bumbling Bert! We will also have face painting and henna tattoos, laser tag and a PartyCade bus with many different video game consoles set up to play!
While you enjoy all of these vendors and activities, we will have live entertainment set up on our gazebo, with talents ranging from theatre, dancing and of course, music! Entertainment will be running from 12:00pm-10:00pm, so enjoy the overload of talent while it lasts!
Once 10:00pm comes, we will be beginning our firework show brought to you by OLG and Great Blue Heron Casino. Set up your seats in Palmer Park or in one of our two adjacent baseball diamonds to watch the best firework show in the Durham Region. This wonderful display will come to a close at 10:30pm, where we will conclude our celebrations and bid you farewell.
We look forward to seeing you there, visit our Facebook event facebook.com/events/333577257316203/ to let us know if you will be attending and ask us any questions you would like to know!
